The fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein files has delivered another shockwave to the British establishment.
Former ‌ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
He is seen being led away by police from his home in north London.
Police previously searched two properties linked to Mandelson in Wiltshire and north London earlier in February over suggestions he passed market-sensitive government information to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Peter Mandelson’s arrest is the latest fallout from the Epstein files – a trove of documents linked to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He says this could have a knock-on effect for current UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia Statement on Production of Photos and Videos from Epstein’s Island
December 3, 2025

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after receiving never-before-seen photos and videos from Epstein’s Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This production is in response to an Oversight Committee request to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Justice for additional information to aid in the ongoing Committee investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. The newly released photos and videos can be found here.

The Committee also received records from J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank. Oversight Democrats intend to release files to the public after review in the days ahead.

“These new images are a disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island. We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes. We won’t stop fighting until we deliver justice for the survivors.

It’s time for President Trump to release all the files, now,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

On November 18, 2025, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform sent a request to the U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General for documents, communications, and information pertaining to investigations or potential criminal investigations of Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, Statement on Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s Failure to Respond to Oversight Committee Regarding Jeffrey Epstein Investigation

Nov 21, 2025

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Rep. Suhas Subramanyam released the following statement after Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the former Prince Andrew, Duke of York, failed to respond to the Oversight Committee’s request for questioning by the Committee as part of the ongoing probe into Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplices, and enablers.

“Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence in the face of the Oversight Democrat’s demand for testimony speaks volumes. The documents we’ve reviewed, along with public records and Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s testimony, raise serious questions he must answer, yet he continues to hide. Our work will move forward with or without him, and we will hold anyone who was involved in these crimes accountable, no matter their wealth, status, or political party. We will get justice for the survivors,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia and Congressman Suhas Subramanyam

Comer: Bill and Hillary Clinton Must Appear for In-Person Depositions

Nov 21, 2025
WASHINGTON – Today, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) sent a letter to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s attorney, David Kendall, emphasizing that while the Committee remains engaged in good-faith negotiations, the Clintons are required to comply with lawful subpoenas and appear for scheduled in-person depositions.

“The House Oversight Committee is continuing its review of the federal government’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. In July, Democrats and Republicans on this Committee approved a motion to issue subpoenas to Bill and Hillary Clinton. The Committee has since worked in good faith to schedule in-person depositions, but further delays are unacceptable. Given their history with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, any attempt by the Clintons to avoid sitting for a deposition would be in defiance of lawful subpoenas and grounds to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings. The Committee looks forward to confirming their appearance and remains committed to delivering transparency and accountability for the survivors of Epstein’s heinous crimes and for the American people,” said Chairman James Comer.

In the letter to the Clintons’ attorney, Chairman Comer states that Bill Clinton’s deposition is scheduled for December 17, 2025, and Hillary Clinton’s deposition is scheduled for December 18, 2025.

On July 23, 2025, the Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform approved a motion by voice vote directing the Committee to authorize and issue deposition subpoenas for Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. The Committee may use the results of this investigation to inform legislative solutions to improve federal efforts to combat sex trafficking and reform the use of non-prosecution agreements and/or plea agreements in sex-crime investigations.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia Demands Pam Bondi Legally Comply with Oversight Committee Subpoena on Epstein Files

Nov 21, 2025
The Epstein Files Transparency Act is an Act of Congress that mandates the release of the Epstein files, but prevents the release of files pertaining to an “active investigation.” The Administration can weaponize this by starting fake investigations.

The Oversight Committee subpoena mandates the release of the Epstein files, and does not prevent the release of “active investigation” files.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter to emphasize to Attorney General Bondi that the subpoena from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform requires the full, unredacted Epstein files to be turned over to the Committee, including any classified materials and information tied to ongoing investigations, while still protecting the identities of survivors and potential victims. The letter comes following a statement by Donald Trump that “the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to,” and amid concerns that President Trump will exploit a provision of the recently-passed Epstein Files Transparency Act, which allows the DOJ to withhold information relevant to ongoing investigations. After Donald Trump failed to defeat the bill, he launched politically motivated investigations of political opponents.

“Despite signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, it’s crystal clear that Donald Trump and Pam Bondi may use language in the law to slow or stop release of the files by launching a new bogus Epstein investigation. The Oversight Committee subpoena does not allow the Administration to hold back the Epstein files for any reason. Oversight Democrats will continue to apply pressure and make it clear there is no justification for any cover up,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

In the letter, Ranking Member Garcia wrote, “After months of perpetuating his coverup of the Epstein files, President Donald Trump has finally been forced to sign the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed almost unanimously by Congress, requiring the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release the files to the public within 30 days. This law is a critical step for transparency, passed despite President Trump’s overwhelming efforts to defeat it. There is already a concern President Trump will attempt, on dubious legal grounds, to exploit a provision which allows DOJ to withhold information relevant to ongoing investigations. I write to remind you that the subpoena issued by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform requires you to release the complete, un-redacted Epstein files to the Committee, including classified information and material relevant to ongoing investigations, while protecting the identity of survivors and potential victims. Any additional federal investigations launched by the DOJ or the President do not impact our subpoena.”

Chairman Comer Subpoenas Banks for Epstein Records, Seeks Information from USVI Attorney General

Nov 18, 2025
WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today issued subpoenas to J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank for Jeffrey Epstein’s financial records. Chairman Comer is also requesting U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General Gordon Rhea provide documents to further the Committee’s review of the federal government’s investigation of Epstein.

The House Oversight Committee is conducting a thorough review of the federal government’s investigation of Mr. Jeffrey Epstein and Ms. Ghislaine Maxwell. The Committee is committed to providing accountability and transparency to the American people and the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes. Here is what the Committee has accomplished to date:

The Oversight Committee Has Released Approximately 65,000 Pages of Documents to Date: This includes documents from the Department of Justice, the Epstein Estate, former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr’s deposition transcript, and former U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta’s transcript.

Subpoena to the Department of Justice for Epstein Related Records: Chairman James Comer issued a subpoena to the Department of Justice on August 5, 2025, for documents and communications in its possession, custody, or control related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The DOJ has produced roughly 33,000 pages of records to date. The Committee has posted these documents on its website.

Subpoenas to the Clintons, Former U.S. Attorneys General, and Former FBI Directors: Chairman Comer issued deposition subpoenas

The subpoena to the Department of Justice can be found here. The subpoena cover letters can be found here.

to Bill and Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales for testimony related to horrific crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein. The Committee will make deposition transcripts public.

  • The Committee has conducted a deposition with William Barr and released the transcript. Barr debunked the Democrats’ false claims about President Trump.
  • The Committee has accepted formal written declarations from former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorneys General Alberto Gonzelez, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Jeff Sessions, and Merrick Garland under penalty of prosecution for false statements stating they possess no information about the Epstein or Maxwell cases. After the Committee learned Mr. Mueller has health issues that preclude him from testifying, the Committee has withdrawn its subpoena.
  • The Committee is in communication with the Clintons’ attorneys about scheduling dates for their depositions.

Transcribed Interview with Alexander Acosta: Alexander Acosta, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor, appeared voluntarily for a transcribed interview on September 19, 2025. The Committee has released the interview transcript. Mr. Acosta destroyed the Democrats’ Trump-Epstein smear. There was no contact between President Trump and former U.S. Attorney Acosta, and no link between Trump and Epstein in the case.

Subpoena to the Epstein Estate: On August 25, 2025, Chairman Comer issued a subpoena to the Epstein estate for documents and communications in its possession, custody, or control in unredacted form. The estate started producing documents in September 2025 and continues to make productions on a rolling basis. The Committee has made documents public.

Subpoena to Ghislaine Maxwell: On July 23, 2025, Chairman Comer issued a subpoena to Ghislaine Maxwell for a deposition.

Request for Epstein-Related Suspicious Activity Reports: Chairman Comer has requested the U.S. Department of the Treasury provide relevant suspicious activity reports (SARs) to assist the Committee’s oversight of the federal government’s enforcement of sex trafficking laws, specifically in connection with the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The Department of Treasury is fully cooperating with the Committee’s request. Read the letter here.

House Oversight Committee Releases Jeffrey Epstein Email Correspondence, Raising Questions About White House Coverup of Epstein Files
Nov 12, 2025

This Tranche of Correspondence Raises Questions About Trump and Epstein’s Relationship, Trump’s Knowledge of Epstein’s Crimes and Relationship to Victims

Washington, D.C. — Today, Oversight Democrats and Ranking Member Robert Garcia released never-before-seen emails from the latest production from Jeffrey Epstein’s Estate, striking a blow against the White House’s Epstein cover-up. In private correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein wrote in 2011 that Donald Trump, “spent hours at my house” with a victim of sex trafficking, referring to Trump as “dog that hasn’t barked.” In a separate email with author Michael Wolff in 2019, Epstein stated explicitly that Donald Trump, “knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.” In another email with Wolff in 2015, Epstein and Wolff discuss if they can “craft an answer” for Trump’s upcoming CNN interview, with Wolff characterizing Epstein’s leverage over Donald Trump, saying, “If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency.” The Epstein Estate released a total of 23,000 documents that the Oversight Committee is currently reviewing.

“The more Donald Trump tries to cover up the Epstein files, the more we uncover. These latest emails and correspondence raise glaring questions about what else the White House is hiding and the nature of the relationship between Epstein and the President,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia. “The Department of Justice must fully release the Epstein files to the public immediately. The Oversight Committee will continue pushing for answers and will not stop until we get justice for the victims.”

Ranking Member Robert Garcia, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, Oversight Democrats, Demand Andrew Mountbatten Windsor Answer Questions on Jeffrey Epstein
Nov 6, 2025

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, and 14 other Committee Oversight Democrats wrote to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor,(view letter) the former Prince Andrew, Duke of York, to request that he submit to questioning by the Oversight Committee as part of the ongoing probe into Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplices, and enablers. The Oversight Committee will investigate allegations of abuse by Mountbatten Windsor, and will seek information on Epstein’s operations, network, and associates based on the men’s longstanding and well-documented friendship.

Last month, Mountbatten Windsor announced he would give up his royal titles following accusations of his involvement with sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and abuse allegations made by Virginia Giuffre. His decision came just weeks after House Democrats released records listing Prince Andrew as passenger on Epstein’s aircraft, with financial disclosures providing possible evidence of payments from Epstein for “massages for Andrew.”

“Rich and powerful men have evaded justice for far too long. Now, former Prince Andrew has the opportunity to come clean and provide justice for the survivors. Oversight Democrats will not stop fighting for accountability and transparency for survivors of Epstein and his gang of co-conspirators,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

“After hearing from Epstein’s victims and public reporting of leaked documents, it is vital that Andrew cooperates with the ongoing investigation. If he is innocent, then he can clear his name. And if not, our investigation will show that, and the victims will receive long overdue justice. The Royal Family’s actions stripping Andrew of his titles show there is more to this story. Ranking Member Garcia and I will not stop pushing for answers and accountability,” said Congressman Subramanyam.

In the letter to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the lawmakers wrote, “It has been publicly reported that your friendship with Mr. Epstein began in 1999 and that you remained close through and after his 2008 conviction for procuring minors for prostitution. It has also been reported that you traveled with Epstein to his New York residence, the Queen’s residence at Balmoral, and to Mr. Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where you have been accused of abusing minors. This close relationship with Mr. Epstein, coupled with the recently revealed 2011 email exchange in which you wrote to him “we are in this together,” further confirms our suspicion that you may have valuable information about the crimes committed by Mr. Epstein and his co-conspirators.”

Ranking Member Robert Garcia, All Oversight Democrats, Call on Committee Republicans to Issue Subpoenas to Jeffrey Epstein’s Banks
Oct 31, 2025

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, led every Democratic Member of the Oversight Committee in sending a letter to Chairman James Comer urging the issuance of subpoenas to JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, Bank of New York Mellon, and other financial institutions linked to Jeffrey Epstein. These banks had extensive roles in managing Jeffrey Epstein’s financial accounts and facilitating questionable transactions, including large international transfers and cash withdrawals. They possess records which will reveal the sources of Epstein’s wealth and provide critical details on his network of enablers and associates. This letter follows new bombshell reporting from Bloomberg that reveals the Department of Justice investigated Epstein for extensive financial crimes prior to the sweetheart deal offered by Former U.S Attorney and Trump Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta. The documents shed light on the extensive investigation into Epstein’s financial crimes, which was conducted before Epstein’s sweetheart deal was granted. The Department of Justice continues to conceal this information from the Oversight Committee and the public, despite its obligation to produce them under the Committee’s subpoena.

“Jeffrey Epstein exploited women and young girls for decades, using his immense wealth to enable his abuse. These financial institutions had extensive roles in managing his financial accounts that are critical to our investigation,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia. “Full bank records will tell us much more about the network of Epstein’s illegal activities, identify his associates, highlight questionable transactions, and reveal people and institutions who made his crimes possible. No one is above the law, and we will not stop fighting for justice for the survivors and transparency for the American people.”

In the letter, the Members of Congress wrote, “Reports further indicate that considerable amounts of undisclosed evidence of Epstein’s financial crimes, previously collected by federal prosecutors, are likely in the possession of the Department of Justice (DOJ). Such information must be disclosed pursuant to the bipartisan subpoena issued to DOJ by our Committee and, in the face of DOJ’s inaction in producing the files, we must continue to seek evidence from all other possible sources of information.”

On September 8, 2025, Chairman Comer promised to issue a subpoena to obtain Epstein’s bank records, but has not yet followed through on this pledge.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia Demands Immediate Release of Remaining Epstein Files Following Explosive Memoir from Survivor Virginia Giuffre
October 22, 2025

Download Letter

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, demanded Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice (DOJ) immediately turn over all Epstein-related files and end her refusal to comply with the Committee’s months-old congressional subpoena. This comes after Virginia Giuffre, a survivor of Epstein’s sex trafficking operation, released her new memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice. Giuffre’s testimony detailed damning allegations regarding Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, the vast scale of Epstein’s criminal network, and alleges the existence of critical new evidence which may be in the possession of the DOJ.

“Virginia Giuffre’s allegations are heartbreaking and horrific, including testimony that prominent world and U.S. leaders perpetrated sexual assault and sex trafficking of girls and young women. Ms. Giuffre clearly contradicts the agency’s claim that the Epstein files did not justify further investigation. In light of this, the DOJ must comply with our subpoena and provide our Committee with the full Epstein files immediately, because the American people demand the truth, the survivors deserve justice, and we must end this White House cover-up,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

In the letter to Attorney General Bondi, Ranking Member Robert Garcia wrote, “Your refusal to release the files and your continued disregard of a congressional subpoena raises serious questions about your motives. Oversight Democrats support transparency and accountability for the survivors of Epstein’s crimes, as described by Ms. Giuffre, regardless of the identities of the perpetrators or co-conspirators or their positions of power. You, however, are going to extreme lengths to conceal the truth from the American people, apparently in cooperation with President Trump. This is unacceptable, particularly as Speaker Mike Johnson continues to highlight the work of our Committee to demonstrate his commitment to transparency on the Epstein matter, yet he continues to ignore your increasingly obvious refusal to respond to a lawful subpoena.

Ranking Member Robert Garcia Statement on Mike Johnson’s Refusal to Swear In Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva
Oct 15, 2025

Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement as Speaker Mike Johnson continues to refuse to swear in Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva, blocking her from being the 218th signature on the Epstein files discharge petition.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep.

“It has been over 4 weeks since Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva won her election for the people of Arizona, and Speaker Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in as a Member of Congress,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia. “It’s clear Speaker Johnson is keeping the House in recess and holding the American people hostage so Adelita is blocked from being the 218th signature on the discharge petition to release the Epstein files. House Republicans must end this White House cover-up and get to work for their constituents. Speaker Johnson must swear in Adelita now.”

Thursday september 18 2025 During a joint press conference  with Kier Starmer, Trump was asked if he sympathized with Mandelson over his sacking. The U.S. president denied all knowledge of Britain’s former ambassador to Washington.

PM Kier Starmer sacked Mandelson after Bloomberg revealed leaked emails showing the ambassador had sent Epstein effusive support the day before he began his 2008 prison sentence for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

Trump and Mandelson both contributed to the 2003 “birthday book” in Epstein’s honor.
