Palestinians from Khan Younis have described devastating scenes upon returning to their hometown, largely reduced to rubble by Israel’s earlier invasion during the war. Kamal Abu Tuaima, an elderly man from the neighbourhood of Bani Suheila, 2km (1.2 miles) east of the city, said he came back to find his house had been totally decimated.
