A moment of gratitude and hope, that turned to tragedy in Gaza.
A young boy, Abdul Rahim, also known as Amir, had walked kilometres to find food for his family, at one of the aid distribution sites run by the notorious Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
Pictures of him thanking an American contractor were shared extensively online.
But Amir never returned home. The contractor he thanked has since returned from Gaza, and told the horrific truth, that the child was shot dead, just moments after the photos were taken.
Abdul Rahim is among the 859 Palestinians who’ve been slaughtered at GHF sites.
Al Jazeera’s Perry Wilton reports.
