The United States has greenlighted the transfer of billions of dollars worth of bombs and fighter jets to Israel, The Washington Post reported, even as it publicly expresses concerns about the long-threatened Israeli invasion of Gaza’s Rafah and the rising civilian casualties in the enclave. Al Jazeera’s senior analyst Marwan Bishara has said “There is a pattern in US-Israel relations and in America’s relations with its allies around the world.” Bishara added that “The US usually aims to increase military aid to have more leverage on the country,” but it does not deter Israel from doing what it wants in Gaza.
